Blenham Castle-winston churchill lived here. this was owned by the spencer royal family, relatives of princess dianna. the duke of marlbouough lived here in the 1890's. the american vanderbilt family, while billionnaires in their own right, apparently had the need for 'pedigree' and 'bloodlines' to make sure they were really better than anyone else. they arranged a marriage of their daughter to the duke to accomplich this. only problem? the vanderbilt girl(consuella) was in love with an american pilot and didnt care about bloodlines. so what does mom vanderbilt do? she locks conny in her room until she agrees to marry the duke of marlborough. meanwhile, the agreement was to give lots of money to the duke to keep the palace afloat. 19th century social laws prevented royalty from working, and the duke was simply out of money. so the deal was.........duke marries conny, duke receives today equivalent of $300 million dollars!!! so conny gives the duke 2 sons(an heir and a spare), and leaves the duke to marry her old boyfriend. Blenham is now supported by tourism and something called the queen's trust, a fund to maintain the gems.
